• December 14, 2008 Minor Update: Cache Clear

    We’ve cleared image and dyno caches. This means that the following problems have been fixed:

    1. No more 30-second GTI’s. I know a lot of you VW fans have been loving the GTI’s with a 2.5 G skidpad rating (almost F1-esque!), but it has been permanently fixed, and now the GTI’s will post more realistic times! Sorry!

    2. Old image blunders are now fixed. These include the dark blue 350z with an orange stock rear bumper, dark frames around the quarter-panel windows for the S7 and Camaro, Silver M3 eyelids that were really yellow, and a couple other minor fixes.

    The one side-effect is that your sent challenges that are shown in your notifications will not include the opponent car’s picture. Image loading will be slow for a few days as the cache repopulates.

    Overall site speed is starting to feel a bit faster too, thanks to Lijen’s unyielding efforts.

    just a question expanding on a question I posted in the last blog, if I delete the vDream app from my myspace, will it remove me from the challenge screen, the random challenge and the leaderboard so people can’t send me challenges? I want to be able to not have to log on and accept races without having them turn into chicken outs

    Brendan, sadly vdream does not yet support a “sleep mode” or anything like that yet. Removing the app will not delete your account either. If you were to delete the app from your facebook account, and reinstall it, you would return to your same exact account.

    It could be beneficial for you to remove it for the days you’ll be gone, but when you return, you will have challenges. You’ll still be on the leaderboard, and people will be able to random challenge you. But your friends will no longer be able to challenge you – which could help. A sleep mode is on the nice-to-have list, and will be created when Lijen has the time.

    how about replaceing the 350z with the new 370z. the 370z is much faster and lighter and is far more attractive than the 350.

    i just purchased the underdrive pulley kit for the supra and it bought and installed 2 kits and now my car is not in running condition so if someone could fix that for me asap i would greatly appreciate it. also i still feel we should be able to sell cars, so if you guys wanna take that into consideration.

    I still would like to know what’s going on with my vDream account!? I KNOW that there HAS to be something wrong!!! If it was just my computer, then I’d be like whatever about it because it would be on me, but the problem I’m having with vDream isn’t just happening on my computer, the same EXACT thing is happening on two different lap tops I’ve used at different days/times. What’s going on??? Can anyone help me???

    Again, for those who may have not heard about the problems I’m having with vDream. When I click on the vDream link from my Myspace homepage, the page loads at the bottom….just like it used to about 2 months back. It works fine when I’m accepting a challenge, I can refill my gas tank, go to the parts store, etc. All that works fine. What DOESN’T WORK is after I accept a challenge and send a rematch, my screen turns white and it says that there has been an error and that it has been reported! I’ve been told that people have gotten my sent challenges, but that error I get EVERY SINGLE TIME should NOT be happeneing! Also, when I click on “Random Challenge,” the screen goes white and it says that there has been an error, etc.

    What’s going on????? I know that I can’t possibly be the one and only person this is happening to! There HAS to be others out there going thru this, and if so, PLEASE speak up and post up here! Something is wrong, whether it’s with vDream or Myspace, and it NEEDS to be fixed! /rant

    idk LXS, sad to say it might be because of your internet or area or something. everyone else is fine. some people hav had some problems with Internet Explorer, but i think they are fine now.

    i did have the same prob lxs, i reported a bug and then tried again and it was all fine though… so yeh. sucks to hear though. i wouldn’t be all that excited if i was in your position..

    What browser do you use, lxs? IE6 doesn’t work well with vdream. IE7 is ok, safari is so-so, and Firefox is DA BEST.

    Thinking about it, I think IE6 IS kinda sorta old for a browser =X

    and maybe you can try chrome from google?

    I use chrome and it’s all fine when I use vdream. XD

    I’m open to try different browers….just as long as my computer can use it lol :D I just don’t understand why I’m having this problem all of a sudden. It’s been working fine this whole time, then outta nowhere it’s not working right. Sorry for the “n00b” question, but, how do I go about using chrome? Thanks! :)

    i dont know where to ask this but oh well.

    i have a maxed out neon, and i have been getting challenged every day by 900hp+ cars

    two of these vettes have challenged me 10 times, and another has challenged me 8 times so far. this is really starting to piss me off, cuz im sure that im not the only person these people are doing it to.
