The challenges are killing my stats!! I got about 2500 VDI with the integra maxed out, but I keep getting challenges from 5, 6, 7, 800HP cars! It’s not like I can switch cars or buy more mods to compete either!! HELP!!

The challenges are completely garbage now. High horsepower cars can challenge very low HP ones, so the only way to get anywhere now is to have a powerful high HP car. It’s pretty unfair and much less fun. Thumbs down to this update.

Yep that means for everyone that complains about going down a level on the leaderboard, there is a guy that went up a a position on the leaderboard. haha… and since vdi has to do mostly with how active you are, I really don’t see a problem there.

Those are given/awarded by the administrators Lijen and Cheechoo for individuals who have helped beyond the call of the application.

They are not going to be a regularly obtainable award, but are more of a pat on the back for people who have worked hard to help the application move forward.

I don’t like the huge VDI requirements for the top level vehicles. Once you hit 3000-5000 VDI you should be able to buy whatever you want. Plus it gives the top players a larger pool of people to race against.

well for an S13 owner you should know that the 1991-1998 S13s came in KA24DE, as in 1989-90 they came in KA24E.

and in the future there should be front-end changes so u can get the chuki instead of pignose.

I totally agree with you Frodo! I feel that the old set up had EVERYONE on an even playing field! The only way you were more active was if more people challenged you. Now that there’s challenges every 4 hours, that makes those who rank higher HAVE to make time (sometimes they don’t have) to either sit at a computer (or phone like me), just to send out those challenges so you don’t lose VDI and/or rank! At least the way it was before, you knew exactly what you had to work with! You knew that at a certain time (4pm in the fall and 5pm in the spring), vDream would reset and you could log in and send your challenges out and be on your merry way with life. Now, those who either have no life whatsoever, or work with a computer in front of them, are able to take advantage of those who don’t have that luxury. Yeah, you say “that’s the point,” but to what extent? To discourage those who can’t be on the computer 24/7 to just quit the game all together cause they can’t keep up? Some of the new features are a nice touch, but the whole challenge and VDI set up isn’t the greatest IMHO. Yeah sure, out of a lot of people here who have lost VDI or ranking, I’m one of the few who hasn’t gone that road and has actually benefitted from it, but the only reason that is, is because now I’m “forced” to log in every 4 hours to keep up with the rest of the pack in the hopes that I won’t get left behind! Yeah I know, you guys want to reward those who are commited to the game, but what’s next, having some sort of “Le Mans” type of set up where you’re not gonna be able to leave the game for a moment without getting left behind? (Yes, I’m exaggerating, but I think you get my point) Anyway, I’m all on board when it comes to rewarding those who love the game and trying certain new things out, but please don’t forget your “roots” and remember why you’re here in the first place….

lxs i cant agree more. when the vdi system first came out i was ably to work my way up to around 40 on the leaderboard and working my way up, then when the system got changed the first time i started to drop fast. now im down to 65

ok but with the VDI system before this the people in the top 10, especially top 5 were going at a 200 VDI per day rate, how are people ever going to try and catch up to them, they’ll see that number and get angry and not even try, but we are working on VDI and its not permanent and we hope to find a neutral setting that is good for everyone. But apparently that might be non-existent..

LXS, Chris, and everyone else who has commented-

I totally understand and agree with the perspective that you are offering. Heck….I benefited greatly from the old system. But the perspective the application has to take is how do you get newer users wanting to be involved? If they see me at the top of the leaderboard, and see that I am still climbing 350-400 VDI in a day, and they are slowly moving at 200, don’t you think they are likely to get discouraged?

Try imagining a vDream without a pre-existing VDI system. Now…design a system that you think would fairly, and blindly, rank users. I may be off in thinking this, but wouldn’t you want to benefit the people who check/accept/send challenges 10-15 times a day rather than those who log-in once a day?

Also, realize that your VDI is not dropping, rather, other, more active users’ VDI is increasing at a higher rate.

I see where you guys are coming from (Yuriy and Daniel) :) I think it was a GREAT move to get you guys out of the top spots (especially you Daniel! hahaha), which should help newer people and not discourage them (the only other concern is, now that Daniel and company are out of the “lime light,” there’s still Big Dan over there with a HUGE lead in 1st place, which could still potentially discourage noobs, and it’s almost like nothing has changed from before, just names).

My only thought/recomendation would be this….if you’re going to try to tweak the VDI/rankings to hopefully make everyone happy, then maybe why not make a couple different leaderboard rankings!? Like, for those waaaaaaay down at the bottom of the totem pole, you can have a board ranking of 900-1000, then work all the way up to 1-100 in rankings? I know it’ll be more work, but at least this way, maybe, it can help give that extra “spark” for people to be in the top spot of their board ranking! Anyway, that was just a thought :) I’m in no way trying to talk down (talking about my previous post), about the game or to those who are a part of making this game. I have had this somewhat bottled up in me for quite a while, and being that I have been pretty busy with things here at home, I haven’t been able to log on here and post my feelings/suggestions (nor have I even participated much over on Underground). I had some free time today, and after reading a few posts that others had put up, I felt it was time for me to express myself lol Anyway, here’s to a better vDream for tomorrow! :cheers: :D

The new VDI favors not the most active but those with the best car. those with faster cars can sucessfully challenge the people who are more likely to be active or accept. you can be on 24/7 but if nobody accepts your challenges you’re screwed.

I’m fully aware that the 1991-1998 came with a DOHC KA24DE (I own a ‘91 hatch)

I was pointing out that because of the pignose front, the car is obviously a 89-90 model and therefore had the SOHC in it. You guys list it as being the DE though. Also it would only have 140hp (crank) instead of the DOHC’s 155hp (crank)

Regardless, If the Chuki front is available I think I can forgive you guys. ;-)

Okay so I have a Vette, not that I can do anything with it anymore. When this whole update started I was on tier 3 cars, but too bad I owned a tier four car. Now I need turbo and doors and guess what! “Access Denied!” What crap is that? And with the random challege system- I log on and have a ton of challenges from cars with 900+ hp. It wouldn’t be an issue if I could finish moding my car. When I try the random challenge, I either get people with less then 500hp or more than 900hp, so there is no challenge. Either I kill them or they kill me. What kind of crap is that????
