• September 12, 2008 Vintage: Chevy Camaro Muscle Car Joins vDream!

    11:39am by Cheechoo (Site)

I would like to welcome vDream’s newest member, the 69 Chevy Camaro. First, we polled users to see what kind of car they wanted to see. They wanted to see Vintage American Muscle. Then, we polled users to see which Vintage American Muscle car they wanted to see, and the Camaro won. That was the story of its inception.

Some tips about the Camaro: It has the potential to have a pretty good amount of power, but with its stock drivetrain, it bogs down a bit. Next week we will be releasing a new part type which will probably be part of the drivetrain (think transmission, clutch, flywheel, etc). It’s the drivetrain parts that will help this car the most.

    Enjoy!

wait a minute… a 1969 American muscle car that weighs 3,350.0 lbs? This is WAY OFF….

    A quick search reveals:

The standard model is listed as 3,765 lbs. Even the Z28 model is listed as 3,525 lbs.

Think about it, back in those days they’re using steel instead of aluminum, there’s no carbon fiber or advanced lightweight materials…

Hey there all! I was experience a problem, thinking it is a “server-side” issue! Here is a screenshot to the image:

Anyone else seeing this when they go to the “vDream App?” Maybe it’s jsut me! I submitted a support ticket and I will submit another one, because I cannot find Cheechoo or Lijen online on FB today (plus, I have a few other ways to chat and contact with Lijen, and haven’t found him there either…)! So, just PLEASE respond if ANYONE is seeing this same problem with the App (most likely a “server” error or possibly an IP ban, but IP Bans happen, usually due to security add-ons and features added to a Linux/Unix Box aka “Server”)!!! Thanks and Go vDream!!!

There’s a lot of ground clearance on vintage muscle cars and it looks odd with no visual of the right front tire…

Papa Doc, i get the same error in firefox, but not in IE

i picked up the camaro today, thought it would be a nice change it looks like there are going to be a LOT of customizable parts, but not too much there yet

i figure im never going to make it to the saleen and the viper just seems unexciting to me for some reason

bring on the muscle car parts!

Hey guys, for those of you getting the 500 Server Error, try clearing your cookies. That should fix it. Heres instructions on how: http://www.google.com/support/calendar/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=37061. I just got the Camaro, about to take it for a test run. Anyone else have one yet?

Carbon Fiber Camaro?! The weight is a solid 400+lbs off of what it should be! Multiple searches are giving me around 3,760lbs.

w00t! Okay, yeah I restarted and all was well. I tried changing my IP, but that didn’t do the trick. It must have been my cache/cookies/etc. regarding my Firefox, and I didn’t try it in IE (thanks for your input Bradford, I’ll try that next time with my IE Beta 2, hehe), but I should have thought of that anyways, lol- oh well, sh!t happens…

Thanks for the help Lijen!!! Also, Lijen, send me a message via Facebook’s “Inbox Messaging” and I’ll reply with a few thing you NEED to know about the Beta Testing so far (if you can get the time, no rush)...

Oh, by the way, guess who has enough vDream dollars to buy the Saleen??? ME!!! w00t, w00t!!! :-D But, without knowing the prices for the add-ons and what add-ons are available that I can get for the Saleen, for now, I’m going to stick with the Viper and upgrade the upcoming parts that will be released (Drivetrain parts: tranny, flywheel, clutch, etc.) ... After I make another 25-50k AFTER I upgrade the Viper with the upcoming “Drivetrain parts,” then I’ll probably upgrade to the Saleen! ^^

Shoutz to me for having the option to buy the Saleen, atleast, hehe! Go vDream!!!

Hey guys – getting a lot of replies saying the Camaro is too light. There are sources all over the web with a whole bunch of different figures. I went ahead and added 400lbs to the curb weight of the Camaro. Today I will scour the web for more parts for the Camaro to make it competitive. If I get angry, I might just release transmissions or something, just to make it more competitive.

  • September 12, 2008

Well I think it fits almost exactly how it should, the car was fast, and had alot of torque as well as heavy, but it’s weakness was , well by todays standard, old engine designs, as well as a tranny that couldn’t use the mass amounts of Horsepower, and without fuel injection, you lose alot of ooomph

Of course nowadays if one were to install a fuel injection, an ECU, six speed tranny, and some other minor parts you could be popping off the line with over 600 horses, and 0_60 in under 4 seconds, without a charger or nitrous kit

  • September 13, 2008

The Camaro HP numbers are sad, stock 427 & 454 numbers were low estimates from the factory on perpose. They were worried about many things included insurance prices for consumers and sales. The 396 had 375 hp/427 had 450hp. I suggest crate motor upgrades for the Camaro, GM Parts performance or Summit Racing has what you need to know. 502 has 502 hp & 572 has 620hp out of the box.

Dodge SRT4 won the last poll, and will be out this week. Week after that will be a euro car of my choice that I’ve been wanting to throw in there. It’s already in the works.

We need another entry-level car… The mid-level cars are outnumbering everything. Any suggestions?
