September 22, 2008 Winners! (weekly and poll)
04:27am by Cheechoo (Site)
Last week’s winners are: (drumroll)
Most Active: Robert Maybruch, with 403 activity points.
Biggest Loser: Nick Sopchak, with 129 losses. That’s even more than Lijen, who WANTS to lose! Hope the reward money will help you get a faster car. =)
Car of the week: Jason Gibson, with a seriously sweet looking tricked out GT3. That Canadian monster looks like it’s ready for some serious racing.
Also I’d like to announce the Poll Winner of last week, and one of the future vDream cars: Pontiac Solstice GXP has been added to our queue. Our moderators and beta testers have been helping us man the boards to see what people have been asking for the most, and we’ve put together another poll that will probably be launched later this week.
Happy vDreaming!

mods: no offense, but is the ride of the week chosen solely on how many of the most expensive parts you put on your car? There should be consideration of the overall tuning concept. The body kit, ok, I even kind of like it. And the carbon hood is a nice touch, if it were by itself. But exposed carbon and doors on a Porsche? Not for full race, not for show cars. And the wheels? Pink (Red?) wheels on a yellow/black car? And the matching door handles? I’ve seen much better executed concepts and color schemes on the lower end cars. Where people spend less time inviting and more time actually working to make their car look good.

So basically I’ve got to add every single part in a different color other than the base color of the car and make sure it looks tacky as hell in order to get the nomination of “Car of the Week?”
Lame.

uuuhm actually I was going for a Canadian like them but I didn’t like the white. It seemed app’ since I started it when the Olympics were running. By the way i take the tunning concept vary seriously. i try vary hard to weight the look and the performance. as for the ppl who like it tks much! as for those who dont run against me n c if im all show n no go????!!!! =)

The car of the week is very unique – I liked it.
- 09:32am
In order to win the car of the week you don’t have to buy every part in different color you just need to make the car unique and look reasonable – don’t make it look like a junk car (red car, white hood, blue doors, yellow spoiler, green door handles and etc).
Here are 2 cars I owned and if you have a car in this style you get my vote:

Wasn’t sure where to put this comment, but here I guess is good as any. For Camaro(yes again, what can I say I’m an owner/woman that knows a little about drag racing) The M22 rock crusher is NOT a drag race tranny,it was more than likely a stock tranny in some years. No one that bracket races/drag races with a manual tranny. I know what people are going to say, and yes lancos are shift but who out-side a full time race team has one in their Camaro. Any one with-out big bucks race automatics because of the constant numbers they give on the track. And I agree, the cars picked for car of the week are most times ugly, I wouldn’t do that to my car so why should it be picked here?

A carbon hood on a rear engine car? The GT3 is already like 62% rear weight biased. That’d make it even worse! Sorry, looks ok, but not sound engineering.

wow that isnt an impressive car. they just bought w/e and threw it on there. consider my M3 as a possible ride of the week.

Hey, everyone, I think this car made the car of the week because is is like one of the only unique porsches on this application. No really you dont believe me? Go challenge a few and see for yourself! This is the same for every other car too. How many solid red Stangs have you see? I know I have seen too many. When is the last time you’ve seen a differently styled viper (hey, mine is pretty plain too)? I think I have only seen two. The car of the week isnt nominated solely on your biased opinion of how nice your car looks.I wish that were true because I think my viper is awefully slick! No, the car of the week makes the grade for being different.

why would a carbon hood on a RR car be weird?? maybe you dont know why people put carbon fiber parts on their car’s to being with? its called weight reduction.
no offense to the GT3 owner but, its ugly. if i saw that going down the road i’d probibly laugh at it. i’d loos the red door handles and red wheels.

Here’s my porsche… its as light as you can possibly get it! I even shaved off the door handles for a while, but I like the carbon fiber and it didn’t add any lbs! haha

Nice time Joe. I assumes you did it with full updated Viper.
- 08:28pm
Tell me if you can get better then 8.86 – thats the best time I did with Viper.
Josh Ferguson, your Porsche is nice but not unique. It still look like stock car. If you want to win Car Of The Week award you must make your car stand out of a crowed.
BMW M3 got lots of options to make it unique. Hopefully in the future we will see some more parts like Mirrors, Fenders, Grills to make each car more unique.by SAAM007

... I can’t say much my Camaro tho tricked out to the nines still only pulls in 11 second runs…. it needs to be lighter, I am thinking carbon fiber side panels..
as for the porsche, again I can;t say much, I think the car itself in butt ugly… so yeah >_>
and WTF about the Pontiac??? I wanted the Sky!!!!
Look me up sometime I’m always ready to race/ chat

haha yeah… I like to keep it clean! My 350z was pretty unique and awesome though! Too bad I had to upgrade! A garage feature would be sweet!

How unique can you get a car when everyone has the exact same and limited options as yourself?
Would be cool if we could do our own designs in this program for our cars…

Weight reduction is all fine and dandy, but you gotta watch weight distribution. Race teams have been known to ADD weight to achieve a better distribution. Now in drag racing, this matters far less than other tracks, but its still a concern. Why do you think no Porsche’s have CF hoods factory? Its not like the prices they charge are too low to afford CF.

i like the car, but it could be better. i am sure a lot of users have similar if not the same look going on with it. but all in all it is sweet just because it is a custom porche. that is nasty in itself. and to be able to custom our own ideas into this would be outstanding.

Jason Gibson! GO CANADA! if you wanted it to be canadian, replace yellow with red cf with white! and that way red rims would be good. btw i wonder why i havent made car of the week.
