September 23, 2008 The Honeymoon is Officially Over
07:41am by Lijen (Site)
So it looks like we didn’t do our homework and have inadvertently made our friends over at Facebook not so happy. By giving vDream dollars away for invitations, we were also violating the Facebook Platform Policy.
As of tonight, we made a couple of changes so that we don’t get taken down.
- We no longer reward folks for inviting their friends to join the fun. Don’t get us wrong, we still want folks to invite their friends to enjoy vDream but we just can’t give any money for it anymore.
- We are increasing the amount of money you get when you send and accept a challenge to $50 from $25. Get those engines started! ...vroooom…To our friends over at Facebook, oops… our bad.

Before you start go mad about it (“thats was great income” / “thats sucks” / “vDream is ruin”) you need to understand the other side of things- Facebook don’t want you to harass people / friends with invitations – unwanted invitations repeat over and over again can be consider spam.
- 09:36am
I can tell you from another game I play that there you must have specific amount of friends in order to get to a certain mission/level cause me to start adding people I don’t even know and send them invitations. Thats not right but what can I do if I want to play the game ?
So there is a reason for this policy and we need to think on new way to make money in vDream. So instead of get angry and sit back relax and use your creative side to help vDream think of new way to make money.by SAAM007

Here’s a suggestion…All friends that join because u invited them, you should make like $20 (or $50) everytime they race…that way we still invite and we have a steady income…is this within your power vDream???

I don’t think they will make some kind of referrals system on vDream, it can be abuse to easy and will require checks by vDream admins constantly and I don’t think it worth the time the admins will spend checking this kind of system (I think we all prefer that they will work on new cars/parts/features)
And about Audi R8 – I am hearing you – thats my (v)dream car as well lol

will you guys be coming with another way to make money other that races? coz we can only send 15 challenges a day and not all of them accepts the challenge…. so if its $50 each, our only guarantee income(in the game) would only be about $750….. that will take us a very long time to have enough money to buy more powerful and expensive cars…..

Lol. you all are funny. You really can’t get by without the friend referal? That’s sad. I have very few friends on facebook, so my friend referal was over in like a day…I guess seeing i didn’t rely on the income like a noob, then i don’t notice not having it.

come on people, you guys are just acting like the people of the real world, always wanting more and more. in the real world, we all have to work to get what we want, so lets just stick with this plan that’s already there and work our way up. i don’t have much friends and i bought a car, fixed it all up, brought my money down to almost $0, and have been challenging random people and accepting challenges everyday; in less than two weeks i have $42,000. Another 3 weeks, i presume, i will be buying the porsche! patience is a virtue, even in a virtual world. so work, race, and win! you make it in time. think about how much money the race car drivers make when they come in last compared to those that make 1st place. It can be millions of $$ difference. work your way up.
keep up the great work vdream!! waiting for racing teams to be created!

yeah, “Audi R8 PLEASE’”s idea is spot on, that would help the poor guys too. even just $25 per race would be great, specially if u have a lot of friends

September 24, 2008
Well guys, with the increase in a “Challenge” being doubled from the previous $25 to the now updated $50 (vDream dollars), that helps us out a lot in gaining more money to “make up for not being able to get the extra $ for inviting people!!!
If anyone wants to contact me personally, I will be MORE THAN WILLING to help ya out! The easiest way would be to just “add me as a friend” on Facebook! My Facebook profile link is: http://www.profile.to/ownag3 and you can add me up there! (My Facebook profile link looks weird, I know; It is an app that you can add to your Facebook Account/Profile, lol.)... When you add me, simply put in the “Personal Message” area a small message stating that you are a vDream Racer and that you have something to say about this or ANYTHING else that comes to mind!
I am currently moderating for Lijen, Cheechoo and Jason along with the rest of the Beta Testers and the official vDream Team! So, if you have ANYTHING TO SAY, just “add me as a friend” on Facebook and then, you can write me an “Inbox Message” and I’ll get back to ya ASAP! This will help Lijen and Cheechoo A LOT with what you guys are feeling about this change with the invite $ and if you have any other ideas or comments, I’d be MORE THAN WILLING to pass them along.
Chin up guys… No worries, the increased $50 that we are now getting for “challenging a racer” is really a BIG INCREASE; 100% increase actually, lol! Hit me up guys and gals with ANY of your thoughts and feelings on this, and if anything else comes to mind… then, I can pass the info on to Lijen, Cheechoo, etc.!
Go vDream!!!

i think you need to make something with like race teams that make money together or something to off set the 4800 bucks you could make a day with inviting people not to mention the extra 1600 a pop you could get for them accepting…. maybe a hourly or daily wage that you can do things to raise

Why dont we have a increase in winnings 400-800, 800-1600? btw y is a maxxed camaro a underdog compared to my maxxed M3 (except weight 3030lbs) Hey jed I added you.
- 09:11amby Tao Ding Ning Li

cuz of the weight, weight determines underdog i think
but then… horsepower make it weird… o.O

September 24, 2008
We actually like the race winnings at 450/850 right now (400 for favorite wins, 800 for underdog wins, and 50 for the accepted challenge). We are going to add other ways to make money so that racing isn’t the only way. Right now we’re dealing with Myspace taking down the server every day =\

I like this idea the best…this way you can have another web page to sell advertisements on so then everyone is happy :)

I think dropping the invites was a good idea, I didn’t know who to send it to unless I kept track, which sucked. I’m sure the team will come up with other ways. We should be happy they listen to us, some apps they surely don’t.

Here’s my thing…everyone is requesting the r8 then shortly after are going to complain cause theres no mods for it. and its getting smoked a la the GTR (guilty of such charge). R8 Looks great but at 420hp 317lbs torgue and a curb weight of 3605 its gonna get handled by pretty much everything since theres no real aftermarket for it now.
**sorry just venting, im tired of racing vipers. i like r8’s! but the game needs another 900+ hp car from ANYWHERE at this point

What about, once the race teams thing becomes official, offer sponsors for a certain number of team wins and/or people on the team. Would that be possible?

that kinda sucks, don’t get me wrong, but those Vdollars helped me out alot. i got a 14 second SRT 4 ( in real life this car would be a monster) but still im getting smoked by civics and tegs? with the extra v dollars i got from inviting my friends i could at least get that turbo package :D but alas facebook seems to ruin the fun for everyone with their ‘new’ facebook setup, and now my vdollars!? in my opinion, say you guys at v dream have done noting wrong, and maybe some incentives is nice
keep up the good work
