This week’s awards really impressed me. I’ll give a little spiel at the end of the awards announcement explaining why.
Most Active User: Danny Mohammad, with 602 activity points, our most ever. But remember, we’ve been fiddling with activity units ever since we released VDI and the leaderboard. But looking at his races, this guy is accepting challenges and sending challenges constantly. You’re a beast, Danny.
Most Losses: Matthew Dotson, with 191 losses. Also our most ever, by a lot. This award money will definitely give you a hand, Matthew. Keep the faith, brother.
Car of the Week: Rosalind Ellis, with what I like to call “The Miami Dolphins’ SRT4.” Rosalind, Miami’s doing alright this year with that crazy Ronnie Brown, but I don’t think they’re going anywhere! Good to show your ‘Fins love through your vDream, though. And if you didn’t mean for your vDream to be modeled after the Miami Dolphins, then it’s all the more hilarious.
Now for my dumb commentary. Weekly activity went up like crazy this week – the introduction of VDI, and our attempts at evening the playing field (trying to deal with ‘viper land’). Also, a couple weeks ago we increased daily challenges to 20 per day. ALSO, there are more users on vDream now, so people are probably receiving more random challenges. What caught my eye was Matthew Dotson’s crazy number of losses – 191. That just means that him and Danny Mohammad are really maxing out those challenges, and they are also receiving a bunch as well. vDream is once again picking up some traction (after losing some during the downtime fiasco), and we’re hoping to roll out a couple cars this week, as well as two more for next week. Also, we are still trying to balance out ‘viper land’ by introducing a new statistic – but it will probably have to wait until our notification system comes out. We’ve got some cool things coming out soon, and I’m pretty excited.

VDI doesn’t come into the 1/4 mile equation at all. The only part that comes into your 1/4 mile times are your weight, hp, and torque, and a slight random factor (used to be 2 seconds but now it’s like .5 seconds or something minuscule.)

Is there a bug or is there something new? I was going thru and sending random challenges when I came across Sal Maria’s SRT4. I noticed his car’s weight was down to 2,686!!! Is this right? The lowest I’ve ever seen is 2,692! I even checked out the parts store to see if I’ve missed something, but I can’t get my SRT4 to drop anymore, what’s up with this???

i would not have associated the car with the dolphins, but then i’m not a football fan. my camaro just looks like a skunk (and smells like one too sometimes).

LXS, I looked into that 2,686lb SRT-4 you were talking about. It looks like he/she was running an AEM intake instead of the Mopar one. It runs 4hp less and drops the weight by 6lbs.

Ehhh, sorry Skunk, but that motor’s alright. Don’t get me wrong, for what it’s intended use, I’m sure that’s one kick ass motor! But for the 1/4 mile, it ain’t gonna do much! I’d like to see what it’s power band looks like. Being that it redlines at 10,500rpms, sounds like it’s torque is gonna suck way down low were it’s much more needed in a 1/4 mile race :)

What the hell just happened?? I left the game for maybe a half hour or so, and when I came back (re-logged back in), my SRT4 is gone and there’s a GTR sitting in my garage…WHAT GIVES?!!!!! I don’t want this pile!!!! And all I’ve got left in my bank account is a little over $7K!!! I was a couple grand away from $100K!!!! LIjen, Cheechoo, or anyone else, can someone PLEASE help me out! WTH!!!!!!!!! vdream?! the Mustang GT is the WORST car to buy! how do u not have CARBON FIBER DOORS to reduce the weight! and the SUPER CHARGER says i’ll get 515hq but when i install it it only gives me 445?!
