In addition to the great news from our friends at Facebook, we have another big announcement today. Here it goes…
- vDream Notifications. It is a little odd making a notification for the Notifications feature… but you get the idea. This new notification system serves as our satellite navigation system on vDream. All vDream related announcements will be sent here, including links to the blog.
- Polls. In our snazzy new Notifications area, you’ll see an area for polls. We love you guys. We want to hear from you. We want to know what makes your heart beat about vDream… and sink (hopefully a lot more of the first than the latter). Plus, our poll reward system will now be AUTOMATED! Yes, that means Lijen and Cheechoo won’t have to manually gift you guys when you answer polls.
In addition to the new feature, we’ve also released the Mazda RX-7, a mid-level turbo competitor with super-lightweightedness (is that a word?).
I know it’s been a long wait, guys, and we still promised some more cars, but they’re coming! Next week will have more cars in the mix (hopefully the Z06 to combat viperland). In the meantime, have fun. Oh yeah, and be ready to answer a poll tomorrow using the INTEGRATED NOTIFICATION SYSTEM.

Nice. Very ‘welcome to twenty-first century’. Now that’s an idea. What if the notification would greet us every time we logged into the app with a welcome screen with vDream logo and “Welcome to vDream.” underneath it, just like some current day sat-nav systems.

dude rx 7 s are klike freeking awesome i bought one as soon as i heard all i need is wheels and doors but now i do know from real life that u can get about 750 hp out of the rotary motor sitting under the hood so for right now we have the neon killer but are u guys gonna come out wit a twin turbo for it which in turn will turn it into a car that can run with the 976 hp vipers that kept challenging my damned beemer…......lets see how the rx7 does….....great job guys

Love the new addition, but I’m having fun with my new M3 right now. Had to trade in the (I’ll borrow a name “Sherman” GT-R for the lighter, same hp output, sexy M3. Like the new notification system, now you can challenge races you missed while you were out – unless there was another way to do it before?
I also think the Euro crowd needs a new addition, what about something like an Audi RS6 or the new R8? Maybe something on the lower end like an older TT or something? Just tossing it out there for the Euro peeps.

R8 would be great… but you have to think about the aftermarket aspect as well. There really isn’t much out there at all compared to a lot of other exotic cars. Or other audi’s to tell you the truth.

hey good shit on getting the rx7 done. but you guys need to add a car between the viper and saleen. Like you have the porsche, and the gtr, but they are both slower then a 900+ hp viper. put like a audi r8 or something in. or what would be even better is a corvette z06. with a twin turbo upgrade.

Not sure where I can get ahold of Lijen, Cheechoo, or Jason faster, here or myspace, but anyway, is there anyway that you guys can get take this GTR away and give me back my SRT4? I DIDN’T purchase it! By the looks of the car, it seems that someone somehow got into my account, bought that pile of $hit and modded the fuck outta it with MY money! I had roughly $90K saved up and was planning on buying a Viper and modding it but decided to wait due to the talk of new cars being released. Had I known this was gonna happen, I would just bought the Viper, at least that way I’d have a car that I wanted and liked. Thanks!

Yeah I know, it was an Asian car manufacturer until it was bought out by Ford…or should I say until Ford bought the controlling interests of Mazda :D

ok so i havent bought the mazda rx-7 but in 1991-1995(the FD’s) but im pretty sure it only came twin turbo. It was the first and second generations (2nd gen FC’cs) that came in the gl or glx models and such that were NA .so why are you asking for a twin turbo setup. Most greta uprgades for them are huge single turbo conversions. I say if your gonna go allout give us an all motor 3 rotor swap and maybe id think about buying it.
and while your at it maybe some of the ones below…JK
i think you guys are doing a good job making most of these pretty “realistic” but many are just limited by parts available and mods. I mean there are 1000hp e36 bmw m3’s being built in turkey, 1000hp camaro drag cars, 1100hp r34 GTR’s and so on and so on but were not gonna get those on v dream…thats like a (v-dream)^2.
either way what im trying to say is great work on the notifications sysytem..its better than facebooks notifications and reminds me a lot of need for speeds cingular system lol. Well done guys

Ok this rx-7 is somewhat disappointing. The rims are too small, the body mods suck.. like give us a front bumper or two. Like people said, it needs more power, and the car sits too high. on top of that, where the hell are the tints?!

Dominic- You have to remember that vDream is all about what people can do with parts on the market. While cars exist that are double what is on vDream, they usually incorporate custom sheet-metal intakes and hand built turbo systems. I know that down the road, more and more parts will be made available for every car.
Michael P.- Patience young padawan it is release day…many upgrades are out there for the RX-7, and I imagine they will be made available as soon as the creators get a chance. There are only 3 of them, and they are doing a great job so far!

Hey guys. HAH, no, Lijen isn’t “myspace first”. Facebook is definitely still our core user group. I JUST sent out the poll, and the server takes about an hour or two to send the notifications to everyone in the database. So basically we’re just waiting for the server to get to us.
And Tao.. Sorry man, the Euro isn’t going to be an exotic. But as of now, the next poll will DEFINITELY be euro exotic. Lots of people have been yearning for Euro. Solstice is on its way (we ran into some hiccups, because of the drop-top). Z06 is slated for next week, and it’s going strong. Hopefully I can get it out earlier in the week rather than later. Just depends on how much coffee/diarrhea I can stand.

A great option for the notifications would be a “Mark All Read” button in the races section. Having to click through every one so that the envelope doesn’t stay lit is a bit tedious.

Series 8 (January 1999– August 2002) was the final series, and was only available in the Japanese market. More efficient turbochargers were installed, while improved intercooling and radiator cooling was made possible by a revised frontal area. The seats, steering wheel, and front and rear lights were all changed. The rear spoiler was modified and gained adjustability. The top-of-the-line “Type RS” came equipped with a Bilstein suspension and 17” wheels as standard equipment, and reduced weight to 1280 kg (2822 lb). Power was 280 PS (206 kW/276 hp), with 313.8 N·m (231 lb·ft) of torque as per the maximum Japanese limit. The Type RZ version included all the features of the Type RS, but at a lighter weight (at 1270 kg). It also featured custom gun-metal colored BBS wheels and a custom red racing themed interior. Further upgrades included a new 16-bit ECU and ABS system upgrades. The improved ABS system worked by braking differently on each wheel, allowing the car better turning during braking. The effective result made for safer driving for the average buyer. Easily the most collectible of all the RX-7s was the last 1,500 run-out specials. Dubbed the “Spirit R”, they combined all the “extra” features Mazda had used on previous limited-run specials. They still command amazing prices on the Japanese used car scene years later

yeah im really happy with Vdream right now it looks really good, keep it up guys
2 things i would like to see personally is more garage spaces(like you’ve heard before) and another American muscle car! (like an old mopar) something like a 70 challenger T/A or a 68 charger R/T, but i know you guys are booked right now with car releases so do what you can do, keep it up!

so i think that the ccx or ccr would be amazing. please? and plus, i know… you cant get it. trust me. that car makes something close to 1000 hp on ethanol and is blazingly quick. i would like to see an r32 gti or something that maxes around lower vipers. and if you want to run with the saleen put something in like the SSC aero or something that really is that fast.
