Many have been waiting for the end of Viper-Land in the vDream community. The Viper has been the best bang-for-your-buck for over a month now, and the only way to take a Viper out, is to either join them, or buy a $600,000 Saleen, and spend another $100,000+ on upgrades. Not anymore, my friends. The Viper has a competitor. Thank god for the American sports car, the Corvette Z06 is here!!! The Z06 is sure to give that monstrous Viper a run for its money. Who will come out on top? I think only Cheechoo knows… Save up those vDollars, the Z06 is here.
For you people already planning on buying it, though, there has been a slight hitch in the plan… All exterior parts for the Z06 were aboard the U.S.S. Failboat, and as you all know already, the Failboat capsizes and loses all of its cargo. There is another shipment of exterior parts for the Z06, but it won’t arrive until next week. That’s okay though, you guys weren’t into all of that flashy stuff anyway. You just want to go fast! To the flashier vDreamers, be patient. To the rest of the Z06 buyers, enjoy!

Guys – The Vette will be about .4 or .5 seconds slower than a maxed Viper for the weekend. The shipment is bringing Carbon Fiber doors and hoods, which will bring the times down. If people run in here complaining that it’s not fast enough yet, you can tell them that. =)

this isnt really a vette comment, but are there any plans to add some sort of custom paint jobs in the future?? one of the things that has bothered me most about this app is that the cars look so bland. it would be really tight if we could customize our paint jobs

Hey Luke! Hopefully this doesn’t get lost… haha I sent you a friend request.
I was in the EXACT same situation money wise and I decided to go with the vette simply because I like to customize my cars and I want to leave myself something to work towards. The S7 doesn’t have any body mods so they will all look the same and I believe that I will still get a large amount of challenges each day if I stay with a vette instead of the S7. Part of why I like the porsche is because I would get so many extra challenges that my VDi would skyrocket… So I hope the same will happen with the vette. In the mean time I will just save up again for the saleen and make a decision down the road!

You have to get rid of the Headers to install a turbo, I had that same problem with my Rx-7 it showed I have over 500 hp but after I installed the Turbo and took out the header, it showed 490 which is alot for a small car like that

I have a maxed out RX-7, blue with carbon Fiber everything and about 60K should I sell the Rx-7 for the Zo6? or wait a little bit until I gain enough for that turbo?

So the engine in my 86 celica Gts starts to knock. a few day later it decides to lock up. So my dads like, dont worry we will get a rebuilt one and swap them out. so we start looking adn we find one from Standard Engine Company for $1700. After the fiasco of the 3 weeks it took them to ship it and the 4 diferent shipping dates i was given. it finally gets here, i swap all the components from the old block to the new one. 4 days later we have the new engine in the car and try to start it…
we try to get it to started for 3 days before we finally give up and take it to a local shop. they find out that whoever “rebuilt” the engine had the cams in backwards. so we get them out and they are all scarred to hell from where they were in the wrong side. so we get that problem resolved and go and start the car. it runs! so me and my dad take it around the block. it dies once but hey, its a new engine. a few things are expected. we take it back to the house and tinker with a few things, and this time take it out on a longer drive… first thing we notice is the fucker wont fall out of a tree… it has absolutely no power… then a few minutes later it start to slowly but surely knock in the 2-3k rpm range. Just like the engine i just took out did…
So, what the fuck do i do now? im out $3000 from the swap and all the new parts. do i sell it for dirt cheap? Deal with the god forsaken company about trying to get them to fix it?
Well some new events today… Traced all my vacuum lines found i had 2 reversed… and re timed it, was running much better. took it on another test drive, about 1/4 mile from my house it started backfiring. then pulling back into my drive way started a horrendous high pitched squeal. i think the bearing on the fucked up cam went out…

If I was you, I would have contacted the shop that you bought the motor from BEFORE having had another mechanic tinker with it. If the motor came with a limited warrenty, you just gave a “get outta jail free card” by having an outside source mess with the car. Now they can say, “sorry, but who’s to say HE didn’t mess up our quality built motor…bla bla bla, yada yada yada etc.” Regardless, I’d still call up the shop who built the motor and see what they can do you for you…..if anything. I’m not much into imports, but all motors, except the Wankel, have the same exact parts, they’re just sized different for their application.

Hey Pierre, check to make sure that you don’t need to remove the stock intake to be able to use the supercharger properly. I never bought the Mustang, but with the Vette and a few other cars, you have to remove certain stock items so that the new aftermarket item can be used :)

Hey Pierre, if it makes you feel any better about your situation, check this out. A few weeks back, I had been racing my SRT4 and saving up as much money as I could to buy a Viper. I had roughly $94K saved up! I logged in one day to find a GTR sitting my garage, fully modded and lightened up, and only $7 left in my wallet! That pissed the hell outta me! I was soo upset that I didn’t race for 4 days! I decided to trade the sucker in, and bought my RX7 with it! I had enough money left over from the trade in to fully mod and lighten up the RX7, and it helped me out A LOT!!!! I was able to race and save up about $75K! This morning, with some sadness in my heart lol, I traded the RX7 in and bought me my Vette! I absolutely LOVE my Vette, although I do miss my lil RX7! Anyway, turn your loss into a gain Pierre! Grab yourself another car and start racing! Before you know it, you’ll have a HUGE wallet and you’ll be ready to buy yourself another car! Cheers!

so i bought the corvette and traded in my rx7. i had roughly 120000$, bought the vette for 50000 or so went to upgrade the engine and bought the twin turbo for 60,000$ and then it refreshed the screen really slowly and i have 4000$ left, but no twin turbo. uhhhh ya, help ?

the top ones. everyone has the bronze (except for me because they aren’t available for my camaro) because they are the lightest. how unique is that? if you get the ones that are a couple pounds heavier, it will make you the underdog in any races with fully maxed and stripped rx7’s. now instead of having a 50% chance of winning $450, you have like a 45% chance of winning $850. win less but make more money!

good for you, I like the mustangs I don’t care what anyone says, they come as cheap as 28,000 and you get an easy 300 hp, and they have potential to go up to 600hp,

I got a suggestion for the Vettes…
I like that you’ve got Magnacharger and the twin turbos as options, but could you also give us to option to go with a centrifugal blower such as a Procharger, Vortech, or Paxton?
There’s one thing I don’t get. When going thru the parts list, for example, I’ll click on the aftermarket intake, obviously I can’t use with the Magnacharger, but WHY does it up my hp/tq? Doesn’t make sense to me. It’s nothing major, but just seems odd to see, especially for a newbie to see it thinking he/she’s gonna get that much hp/tq when their not.

so I was gonna hold out and claim that my principles would not let me change cars simply to run faster…but I sold my GT3 anyway. Now I am officially joining the assault on viperland…and this blog. Having quietly worked my way up to a VDI of 604, I became tired of losing to 600 hp turbo M3’s (one of which I used to have, before trading for the GT3 out of pure love for cars with the engine in the wrong spot). I haven’t lost a single race to maxed out vipers yet, though it lists me as an underdog (I’ve had 6 or 7 races). The best time I have gotten is 8:95, so with carbon parts the vette should surely beat vipers.

Luke, if you get enough money to buy it and max it in a week or 2, go for it. Otherwise I’d go for the vette if I were in your position. It’s a bit under 80k with turbo + trade in. On the other hand, you won’t get bothered by viperland that much which might lower your VDI somewhat.
But if you want to keep your VDI up, keep the Porsche.

I think there are enough vipers (aka vDreamers lacking somewhat in the taste department, who elected to buy a vehicle whose lineage includes a truck engine, truck suspension, side sills that light your leg hair on fire) to maintain our VDI. Unless they are too cowardly to accept a challenge from anyone with more than 500 hp.

Robert, i think it costs around 75k$ to fully maxx it, from what i hear. but there are more parts on the way =] hopefully next week. its still a bit slower than the viper if you’re wondering.

Not trying to say it’s impossible for these cars to be fast on the quarter mile, but how many of these cars do you actually see at the track? Now if this game was a road course or “twisties” type of track, I could see why you guys suggesting the cars you’re suggesting. My apologies for the late reply, Grot, but I’d propose something along the lines of the Mercedes Benz SL/SLK class vehicles…possibly even their AMG equivalents. Even if they cost over $100K, it still would be worthwhile to have something that isn’t an American Car actually be worth buying.
Hell, I’d settle for a SLR McLaren being thrown in as an opponent for the S7. But I think you understand what I’m saying…

we really need to do something about having challenges max out. this game is great, but really it takes all of 10 minutes to do everything, then wait 24 hrs to get to do anything else lol.
what about making an online lobby type deal and allowing online users to challenge each other as much as they want? then limit offline challenges to 20-30 or whatever.
also, if you guys are thinking of adding in any interactive features soon, how about a starting line tree where you actualy have to react to lights.would be a great feature for that online user idea lol. then you could just let the offline challenges run the way they are now.

Not really, 100lbs= 1/10 off the quarter mile (200lbs = 2/10s off the1/4). The Viper has 11hp more and OVER 100ft/lbs tq then I do! There’s NO WAY that being 200lbs less can have such a “huge” advantage against a car that’s got over 100ft/lbs of tq. Just my $.02 :-)

Yuriy, im thinkin that the next car might be out like next week instead of this week because it seems to me that they all have a ton of work to do….
which sucks but either way waitin 2 weeks for a car isnt bad because atleast its not like car show where they havent added a car in like almost 2 months and teh same notification is up on their entry page

I LOVE the color black soo much, that, it kinda sucks when I wanna change the color up on my car. I had thought about going with a red hood for the Vette, but thought it would look odd. I was thinking of trying to tie in the red hood with the red brake calipers, and maybe the red tinted headlights….but ehh!!! Just wish there was a CF option :-(

Okay, enough about Vettes and Vipers… Hell, I’ve loved ‘em both, but there are European cars that can play in the same league…What about them? Benz makes a questionable supercar wannabe, as does Ferrari, and the Italian tractor manufacturer has make a few (Lamborghini). And why not a few Pickups, for the good ol’ boys out there who like to modify trucks, to hunt sports cars, on the real street? (complete with frame mods, et al).
