Oh wow. From Jalopnik, it looks like McLaren has finally produced their latest car since the vaunted F1. It’s the MP4-12C, a twin-turbo 3.8L V8 good for 600 hp and 443 lb-ft.

This car is sure to create the same kind of buzz that the F1 did in 1995. And they claim it has low carbon emissions! Not sure if their typical buyer cares about that sort of thing, though…

I was looking through some of the old files on my comp and stumbled upon these gems. It’s crazy to imagine how far we’ve come with our content & customization engine, and what vDream is capable today. These were some v1 prototypes of vDream cars from way back, over 2 years ago, when we were just developing the idea and playing around with concepts. We ended up going with a different angle and a different artistic style, but it took us several tries to get the right balance between slick graphics and a workable customization system.

Guy has a liftable ramp to allow the car to roll backwards onto the driveway so that carbon-monoxide won’t get in the house. Talk about overkill. But manly, manly overkill.

I wanted to highlight one of our users, Clubbin’ Cripples, who was able to accomplish something that no other user has ever accomplished in vDream history last week. vDream Suicide! From the forum:

“I THINK IT CAN BE DONE! I WANT EVERY ONE TO CHALLENGE THIS BEETLE! I WANT ALL LOSSES FROM EVERY CHALLENGE! I WILL REMATCH ALL THAT I CAN! ALL CHALLENGES ACCEPTED WITHIN THE DAY! COME ON GUYS!
