We at vDream have decided to try and flex our vDream muscles and try an all new car-type! We’re going to roll out an all new pickup truck for vDream, so you guys can show off your brawny lumberjack-style with one of these older version good ol’ American trucks! Thanks to Daniel for the poll idea!

Clinical “Crazy Bastard” Rhys Millen attempts the first BACK FLIP in a truck for New Years. He makes it, but lands awkwardly.

I have to assume they practiced it a lot so that they could get the ramp angle right to do the trick. I also have to assume it’s pretty difficult to practice something like this over and over again. How many trucks did they have to build for this? How many stunt drivers were injured trying to perfect the ramp? It’s not as easy as practicing those x-games flying-dirt-bike dudes, because, well, trucks are a lot more expensive and heavy, and you have to stay inside and feel the full fury of the crash each time it happens. Either way… NUTS!

Here are a couple quick updates on what we’ve been working on during the Holidays (Although the words “working” and “Holidays” should really never appear in the same sentence…)

- Contrary to rumors of being fired or, heaven forbid, being kidnapped and left for dead, our dear friend the book keeper has returned from his prolonged vacation! After scaling Mt. Everest and seeing the Pyramids in Egypt, climbing the Great Wall of China and meeting his true love in Paris, he decided that it was time to come back to vDream where he’s needed most, to bring you your racing stats!

- We’ve updated the MySpace “invite your friends” page. Let’s just say that before it wasn’t the most intuitive of pages … We are currently running a promotion where you are rewarded $1000 vDollars for every friend that you refer who installs the app! Also, if you check your “Offers” section on MySpace you should find another small bonus for inviting your friends. Sorry Facebookers, Facebook’s terms prevent us from doing the same on Facebook.

December 26, 2008 Merry Christmas from the New Exotic!

Working late on Christmas day, Team vDream releases the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640! There isn’t much in the form of the go-fast aftermarket upgrades, so our call-to-action will be for users to find engine parts compatible with the LP640 (not the older one)! Send them in the “part suggestions” form at the bottom of the app page.

The Lamborghini will still be quite fast on the track, thanks to its AWD system and V12 engine.

I’d like to take this chance, now that we’ve got the holiday spirit in full bloom, to send out a big “thank you” to the vDream community. You guys are what drives us. It’s the users that drive vDream. You drive the content, and you drive the success of vDream. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

A few of you knew that there was going to be a surprise on vDream, after the Supra and before the Lamborghini. Well, here it is! The Audi R8 hasn’t won a poll yet, but we decided to throw it onto vDream anyway, because we know a lot of people wanted it. Thanks to Daniel for finding a boatload of parts for it.
