Hello vDreamers! I’m here to post the Awards of the Week – an easy way to make money! If you ever are the most active user, have the most losses, or have a unique car, all in the past week, you have a chance to win $5000 vDollars! Here goes:

Most Active: Abdul Amiri, with 482 activity points. The past couple of weeks there has been a battle royale for VDI on the leaderboard, with the top 10 changing daily, and even the top 5. Interesting to see what happens next!

Biggest Loser: Luke Van Tuyl, with 303 losses. Not like you need the extra cash, but that’s a lot of losses!

Car of the Week: Eiki Tanaka, with a sweet S5. Eiki has been a stalwart contender on the leaderboard ever since its inception, and he has always had an underpowered car, you can tell by looking at all those losses! A winner of the Biggest Loser award a number of times, I think he deserves the Car of the Week Award for his handsome Audi.

November 24, 2008 Minor Updates

We made some fixes over the weekend that we hope will make things more reasonable for the vDream community. Moderators, please let our users know by replying to their posts and stuff. Be polite =) Here is the weekend’s changelog:

1. Found some anomalies in the database regarding skidpad ratings – track/endurance times should be more reasonable.
2. Reduced the gasoline rape that was going on. You no longer have to babysit your gas tank every minute. Track/endurance still takes more gas, but just not as much as before. If we win fbFund we are hiring another engineer at LEAST, so maybe we can throw some endurance gas tanks in… So go vote!
3. The rewards if you are the favorite have gone up: $350 for drag, $450 for track, $550 for enduro.
4. Servers… If our ad money can support it, they will be upgraded. Won’t know until a few days from now if they can.
5. We released Underdrive Pulleys. Not all cars have them. They’ll provide some minor boosts to your hp, and a couple of pounds of shed weight. Track-related parts are being released this week if all goes well.

November 20, 2008 vDream Raceway Opens!

The vDream World has been constructing an all-new racetrack called the vDream Raceway! This is a place where you can race three types of races: 1/4 Mile, Track, and Endurance.

1/4 Mile: This is what we’ve been doing for the past few months. All about your power-to-weight ratio! 15 challenges per day max.

Track: In the in-field of vDream Raceway, it’s a very tight and technical track. Your brakes, suspension, and balance are the big factors here. This is where the lighter and stiffer cars will excel. 5 challenges per day max.

Endurance: The Oval. Power comes into play a lot more here than in the in-field. Also, it depends on how many friends you have on vDream. Essentially, you’re doing a 100-lap race against someone, with all your friends there. If I have 100 friends, that means we’re each doing 1 lap each, no need for pit stops. If I have no friends, then I’m doing all 100 laps, and I have to do pit stops to change tires, fill up on gas, and eat In-n-Out, all which takes time. Max 1 per day.

With these new race-types, you can now tailor your races for each car that you own! It’s up to you to learn which cars are best at which races!

Update: It’s been noted that you can no longer challenge someone from their profile (broken). We will fix this tomorrow, but for now, all you Leaderboard Poachers will have to take a day off from poaching. =)

November 18, 2008 Weekly Awards, and Poll Announcement

Most Active: Keegan Tague with a whopping 713 activity points. Keep it up, Keegan you’re moving up the ranks quickly! I also want to give an honorable mention to one of the vDream Mod/Beta Tester team, Daniel Leas, with an earth-shattering 1184 activity points. Unfortunately, Daniel, you can’t win this award, but props for putting up such a huge number, we’ve never seen it get so high! I’m positive it’s because you’re getting poached on the leaderboard, haha.

Most Losses: Jayson Ballantine, with 189 losses. This $5k vDollars should help you, but I think you’re up there in the VDI rankings too, so you’re probably making plenty of money!

Car of the Week: Muttaqun mo’min dos Malê, with a very eclectic and unique looking M3. I dig the domo-kun and Jake’s girlfriend’s garter! Unfortunately, he moved to an S5 very recently, so this sweet M3 will be lost in the servers forever. But still, props!

A dual-poll is coming out within the next few hours, I added a couple teaser pics at the bottom to show you what they’re going to be. Personally, I’m excited about the bottom one.

November 16, 2008 Saturday Night Work Session at Cheechoo's

Team vDream gets together to spec out some UI and other features on a Saturday night at Cheechoo’s pad. Charles and Cheechoo have been working on an India Pale Ale that’s been brewing for the past three weeks, which is now ready to be bottled, so they take a break to bottle the beer.

Here’s the dicey part: we realized there wasn’t enough empty beer bottles from the last batch (hefeweizen) because we gave them to people. So we had to find some bottles and other paraphernalia, to put the rest of the brew in. So we ended up having to chug some beer that was in Cheechoo’s fridge, some wine, a couple frappuccino’s, and found an empty jar of jalapenos to put the rest of the beer in. Trust us, we’ve used the jar of jalapenos before, and while yes, the taste does leech into the beer even after washing it, but it gives it a unique and spicy taste.

In two weeks the IPA will be complete and drinkable. We’ll let you know how it comes out!

November 14, 2008 Grand Opening: Atlas Parking Structure

vDream opens up the first ever garage: The Atlas Parking Structure! For $50,000 vDollars, or $2.50 USD, you can have your very own spot in this brand new garage.

Here are some things you need to know: before you switch cars, you need to clear all pending received challenges with your current car. Either accept or reject them. Then you’ll be able to drive your second car. Also, check your Parts Shed if you’re an owner of a spot, there is a parking placard for you that represents the Atlas structure.

November 12, 2008 A Euro Supermodel on the Catwalk!

Squeak Squeak, looks like you squeaky wheels got the oil! Introducing the brand new Audi S5! Should go great with the new garage space opening up in a day or two (wink wink, nudge nudge).

The car is brand new, so it won’t have all that much power until more companies do the R&D. But it’ll look great in the Atlas Parking Structure.

Tomorrow a new poll will be released, for more EURO cars! Be sure to check in tomorrow!

Anas and Cheechoo burned the midnight oil in order to release this bad boy today. Give them your thanks by challenging them!

We know many of you voted in last week’s presidential election, and on a bunch of propositions and for state officials. But wait! You’re not done yet! The fbFund is offering $225,000 to 5 Facebook apps, and we want to be one of them!

If we win, we will be able to bring our original vDream hopes and ideas into fruition, and faster than originally planned. Show vDream your support by voting for us!
