Hello vDreamers! The winner of the poll a few weeks ago, the Honda S2000, has been released onto vDream! This little pocket rocket is sure to be quick on the track, and is a beauty with the top off! Have fun!

I stumbled upon Myspace’s “Braddy’s Handsomeness” and his 350Z stuck out for me. Congrats on the sweet looking 350, Braddy! That car truly is “the handsomeness.”

Next week we will be releasing a light content release (no car).

New this week to vDream, the Friend Feed! This handy little feature keeps you up to date on all of your friends activities on vDream. You’ll notice it when you log in on the Pitstop page.

Also, Myspace users can now “Show Off” their cars! This allows all you Myspace users to post pictures of your cars as comments on your friends’ profiles, or talk some trash when you win a race.

April 16, 2009 American Muscle Strikes Again! Weekly Awards!

Fellow vDreamers! The winner of a poll a few weeks ago, the 1968 Dodge Charger R/T has been released! Starts off as a boat. Ends up as a drag strip monster. HOW much horsepower did you say it had?

I don’t recommend bringing this bad boy around our tight track, this barge is meant for one purpose – acceleration. Trust me, you wouldn’t be able to handle even putting the pedal down 5% coming out of any turn, no matter how gradual the turn is. On the strip though, slam that pedal down and lose your lunch.

New lunch not included. Nor is new underwear.

We got a little somethin’ special for all you Facebook vDream users. A new way for you to show off your vDreams and talk some trash at the same time! We added hooks throughout the site that allow you to post images of your vDream onto your own Facebook wall or on your friends’ Facebook walls. Start showing off those cars!

Oh, and for our MySpace users, don’t worry. We didn’t forget about you. We are working to port this feature over so that you can use it too!

April 09, 2009 Flood Gates to Customization Are Open! New Forum!

Hello vDreamers! We have finally opened up stock parts’ availability to be purchased! This was one of those things that people have wanted since the app’s inception 8 months ago. We’ve been listening! Purchasable stock body panels brings us one more step in the direction of total customization. In addition to being able to purchase any body panel in any of the stock colors, those of you who have lost an intake manifold or header and are unable to replace it, you can now visit the parts shop and the stock parts will be there. Just like in real life, however, those OEM parts sure are pricey…

Also, we’ve revamped the forum! The old forums’ individual car portals weren’t getting much action so we decided to scrap that idea and start small, with a normal forum. This way it’ll be easier for everyone to catch up on the daily discussions and have everything together on one cohesive page.

Also, as per the request of our moderators, we’ve switched the unlocking of Endurance and Track, so that users can race fast track cars earlier.

The results are in for our first ever vDream Photoshop Competition! We’re pleased to say that we received a ton of great entries, and were very impressed with all of them. The decision for the winners was not an easy one to say the least. And without further ado, here are the winners! Drum roll please…

1st Prize of $50,000 vDollars

It’s a tie!

Duncan’s 4×4 Cooper. Duncan seems to have designed this great looking Cooper either for the Army or to stealthily race in the Baja 1000! We loved the uniqueness of the design and the huge tires!

Chris’ Corvette C6R. This gorgeous ALMS-ready C6R looks to be drifting around that curve – even the boys over at Corvette Racing would be jealous! The placement of the C6R in the background is perfect, the racing decals are awesome, and it makes for a really fun Photoshop!

3rd Prize of $25,000 vDollars

Kenny’s E92. A beautiful rendition of the E92 M3. I wonder if vDream could use it? Using vDream’s E46 M3 for the base, and tweaking it perfectly, was a great idea and perfect execution.

April 05, 2009 Updates: Random Challenges & VDI Tweaks

The user’s have spoken and we have listened! We have been carefully monitoring the latest poll results and based on your responses we have made a couple changes.

1. Random Challenge Algorithm
Random challenges are now selected based on car tier instead of user class. The idea is that this increases the fairness of challenges selected through the random challenge system.

2. VDI Tweak
We updated the VDI system so that you earn 1 VDI for accepting a challenge. We’re trying to move back toward rewarding our most active users!

Dear MySpace vDream Users,

Our bad. The Toyota Yaris ad that you have been seeing and taking over vDream was not intended to take over vDream….

We have contacted our media partners and figured out that the ad has been hijacking our game and… well, let’s just say that the 2009 Yaris has been officially been placed on probation and we’ll do everything we can to prevent this from happening in the future.

BTW, the Yaris is a pretty sweet car… the ads, not so much.

April 01, 2009 Updates: Photoshop Comp, Weekly Awards, and Delphinus?!?!

Hello vDreamers! It looks like the 2.0 release went relatively smoothly yesterday other than two kinks – forum bugs, and random challenge system – both of which we will be dealing with very shortly. Let’s move on to the weekly grind!

Photoshop Competition will close when Daniel gets up tomorrow morning! So someone send a spy to his house and put a roofy in his night time water if you need more time! But if nobody can roofy his water (in his old job he was a ninja.. it’s hard to sneak past him..), then the competition will be closed at around 6:00am EST. Over the weekend the vDream team and its moderators will choose the winners, and 50,000 vDollars will go to the winner!

DELPHINUS? The next garage spot: Delphinus, has been opened and is ready for operation! Charon didn’t sell out very fast last time, but we’ll see how fast Delphinus sells out, and will try to launch one shortly after it does.

Most Active User: Tyra Stonerook, with 687 activity points. Representing the vLadies (which amount to a whopping 15% of the vDream population!), keep it up Tyra!
